Equipo Telefoncia arrives in Alicante - June 2008

Complete Freight, the specialists in providing logistical support to yacht race campaigns, arranged the airfreight of the Volvo 70 for Equipo Telefonica from Auckland to Alicante together with four Southern Spars masts in excess of 30m and various C-tech battens. The aircraft arrived in Alicante on the 5th June 1 hour ahead of schedule and everything was discharged within a matter of hours. The 4 masts were loaded to a truck for transport to Cherbourg, Gosport, Kiel and Stockholm. With the width of the aircraft being 6.58m it was quite a tight squeeze! Groupama 3 loads in New Zealand bound for France - March 2008

Complete Freight along New Zealand agents, Oceanbridge and French agents, S.A.R.L Freight find the solution to bring Groupama 3 home. Working closely with the Groupama team we were able to load the yacht just three weeks after her capsize off New Zealand. She was loaded onto the Eglantiersgracht, a Dutch ship, transporting fruit and vegetables to Europe. Groupama 3 will take about 5 weeks to get to France, where she will be unloaded in Lorient.
SY SUNSHINE CARBON HULL SHIPPED FROM GREEN MARINE TO VITTERS - December 2007

The 39.5m carbon fibre hull for SY Sunshine, a Trip 128 lifting keel sloop was shipped from Green Marine in Southampton to Vitter’s in Holland earlier this month by Complete Freight, specialists in the shipment of yachts and marine cargo. The hull was floated off her cradles in high water on the Itchen and tugged around to a small coastal vessel where she was loaded direct from the water into the ships hold with 2 cranes. On arriving into Kampen the hull was loaded to a barge for transport up the canals to Vitters.
Ecover III lands in UK - September 2007

Earlier in the September Mike Golding's Ecover was shipped from New Zealand by Complete Freight. Working with a tight deadline she arrived in time for the Southampton Boat Show for her naming ceremony. See pictures of her launch in Portsmouth docks
New Martin 49 arrives in the UK - April 2007

The UK’s second Marten 49 lifting keel, racer/cruiser arrived in the Hamble this week after a long journey from Sydney handled by Complete Freight. The yacht was routed via Auckland to meet with clients deadlines for delivery in the UK. WAM V, MV PROTEUS SHIPS TO THE MED - March 2007

Complete Freight, specialists in yacht shipping has just arranged the shipment of the Wave Adaptive Modular Vessel, Proteus (WAM-V) from California to Italy. Loaded to the Livorno Express on Saturday evening she is expected to reach the Mediterranean in mid April. The Proteus is 100 feet long, 50 feet beam between the twin hulls and is powered by two 355 horsepower diesels and yet only displaces 12 tons fully loaded. The WAM_V has received much attention in the USA due to its future sci-fi appearance. The Livorno Express will be calling Southampton prior to reaching the Mediterranean so should be visible onboard coming up the Solent on the 17th April.
Complete Freight gives you wings! - February 2007

On Saturday Victory Challenge America’s Cup team returned back to Valencia from winter training in Dubai. After a successful 5 weeks on the water Complete Freight air freighted the team in 2 Antonov aircrafts. On Thursday the two yachts were stripped and on the tarmac in Sharjah airport along with keels and masts. By Saturday afternoon both flights had landed in Valencia and all cargo was back at the America’s Cup base. The Antonov 124 is the second largest plane in the world with a max payload of 150,000kgs. With 2 keels, 3 40ft containers and a 12m RIB Complete Freight loaded 80,000kgs into one plane!
SY Shockwave ships to Boston - February 2007

Complete Freight undertake the shipment of Shockwave from La Spezia to Boston. With a transit time of 10 days and vessels leaving every week this was clearly the best option for the new owner who wanted to load the yacht prior to the Christmas break.
"OPERATION DUBAI” AIRFREIGHT OF RED BULL RACING AC TEAM - December 2006

Complete Freight took on the air freight of the Swedish America’s Cup team from Valencia to Dubai last week loading both yachts, two masts, three 40ft containers and one RIB into two chartered Antonov AN124 Aircraft. The team opted to use their preferred partner and specialist in Yacht Transport, Complete Freight to handle the shipment and are pleased to report that everything went as smooth as expected. The operation involved careful and methodical planning and to avoid the need to remove the fins the keels (complete with fins) were rotated from a vertical position to a horizontal position. This was necessary given that the keels were too high for the aircraft in their vertical state but too wide for transport by road in their horizontal state.
ABN AMRO ONE - November 2006

ABN AMRO ONE decides to ship with Complete Freight. With deadlines and timeframes of critical importance to such a high profile campaign Complete Freight’s assistance was paramount. With the guarantee of firm vessel sailing dates and the ability for Complete Freight to arrange de-masting at the Terminal the shipment of the ABN AMRO Volvo 70 took place on the 8th November. The yacht is scheduled to arrive in Sydney on 3rd December where the yacht will take place in the Sydney - Hobart race.
Shipment of Twirlybird V from Genoa to Singapore - October 2006

Complete Freight LTD takes on the shipment of Twirlybird V, a 42.5m, 220,000kgs sailing ketch from Genoa to Singapore. Complete Freight, together with the Luerssen Yachts (the builders), Ron Holland (the designers) and the owner has been involved in every step from the design of the cradle to the engineering behind the complex lifting arrangement. Twirlybird was lifted direct from the water utilising a total of 4, 600mm slings, two of which were positioned under the keel. The loading took place on Friday (13th October) afternoon and she is scheduled to arrive in Singapore just 22 days later.
Oceanbridge Shipping and Complete Freight support the Superyacht Cup Regatta - October 2006

Oceanbridge Shipping and Complete Freight recently lent their support to the Superyacht Cup Regatta, and particularly the New Zealand day, in Palma de Mallorca. Freight and logistics services were provided to the event and reflects the two companies continued support of the Superyacht and marine industries. Complete Freight transport Maxi Longobarda back to the Race Course: - August 2006

Since her launch in 1989 Longobarda was recognised as the outstanding Maxiyacht of her era, proving this by winning the World Maxi Yacht Championships in 1990 and many other successes at the time. Complete Freight was commissioned to transport Longobarda to and from her new owner’s yard in Andover. This involved complicated crane and transport logistics as the transport of an 80ft long and 20ft beam yacht through the streets of Gosport had not been done before. Street furniture and trees had to be removed to allow the yacht through at four in the morning!
Shipping to the Rolex Farr 40 World Championship - August 2006

Complete Freight “specialists in yacht shipping” are working with Dockwise to ship a number of the European Farr 40's from Toulon to Newport RI. Complete Freight gives added value to the Dockwise service by organizing all additional logistics which include customs support (ATA Carnets if required), cradle transport delivery / barging to ship, container shipment and local co-ordination. Complete Freight works with many high profile race programs (including AC Teams, Volvo Teams, TP52’s and Supermaxis) supplying essential pre and post regatta logistical and shipping support.
Maximus ships to Newport - May 2006

Complete Freight ship the 30m Super-Maxi, Maximus from Genoa to Newport for the start of the Newport to Bermuda 2006 Centennial race. Maximus will compete in the race against a record number of other yachts. Maximus and her 40m mast were loaded in Genoa on 2nd May and are due to arrive in Newport on or around 14th May.
Complete Freight transports 56.5m mast by road - April 2006

Complete Freight transports 2 masts in excess of 50m from Auckland to Finland. The two masts bound for Swan Nautor and Baltic Yachts respectively measure in at 56.5m and 55.5m and consequently have become the longests masts to be transported within Europe by road. The masts originated in New Zealand were they were shipped in conjunction with Oceanbridge shipping to Antwerp. From here the masts were barged between terminals and loaded onto a specialist truck for shipment by road / ferry / road to the north of Finland.
Cystal Lady (36m / 160 ton) yacht ships from Italy to Singapore - December 2005

The shipment of M.Y Crystal Lady from Genoa to Singapore raised some interesting obstacles. The 36.5m (120ft) Custom built yacht weighs in at 160 tons and Complete Freight were involved with the design and manufacture of a Lloyds approved shipping cradle suitable for carrying the yacht given her weight and dimensions.
Record number of Super yacht containers shipped out to Caribbean. - December 2005

Complete Freight this year are shipping out a record number of shippers owned containers belonging to super yachts. All up a total of 17 Container on the move to either Antigua or St. Maarten from various worldwide locations.
Mast Mould for Victory Challenge Airfreighted from Seattle to Hall Spars in Holland - November 2005

The mast mould manufactured in Seattle by Janicki Industries was airfreighted to Hall Spars in Holland on behalf of the Victory Challenge America's Cup team. This will be used for the production of the new state of the art AC rigs for Victory Challenge. With a total length of almost 60ft the item was airfreighted for the same price as it would have cost by combination of road and sea freight!
VOLVO team Containers to Sanxenxo - November 2005

Complete Freight together with Schenker and Wilhelmsen Agencies AS managed the movement of all the UK based Shippers Owned Containers which included the Pirates of the Caribbean Containers, Team Ericsons Containers, The Musto Sales & Stock Containers, the Volvo Ocean Management Containers and the Schenker Office Container.
ABN AMRO and Telefonica Movistar Rigs move to Sanxexno - October 2005

In total 3 x 31.6m rigs for ABN AMRO and Telefonica Movistar rigs where shiped from Auckland to Vigo via the UK. Transport into the Volvo 70 base in Sanxenxo was a tight squeeze and a special transport was used to give maximum maneuverability. Complete Freight continue to ship the majority of the newly built rigs in New Zealand to the America’s Cup and Volvo Race Teams.
MY Shiver, Sunseeker 108 Ships from Italy to Sydney - October 2005

Complete Freight ships MY Shiver, one of the largest Sunseeker built to date. Shipped in front of the ships accommodation stack to give added protection to the yacht given its unique paint job she was successfully discharged to water in Sydney. She will be berthed in Sydney Harbor during Christmas and New Year's Eve.
Modified AC rudder sent URGENTLY to Sicily for AC Team - September 2005

Complete sent dedicated truck from the UK to Trapani in Sicily at urgent request of one of the AC teams for the delivery from Cherbourg in France to Sicily within 36hrs. The 4m long item was delivered in time for the team’s race the following day.
Complete Freight transport a number of the SB3's from the UK to Lake Garda - June 2005

Complete Freight undertook a trail run transport for a number of the SB3's heading for Garda. The transport was efficient, saved clients time and money and we are already working on the next event for the SB3's that are interested in heading for Monaco in Feb 2005. Complete Freight announce their support of the 2005 Mini Transat and become the Tobias Hochreutener's title sponsor. At the party, which was attended by fellow competitors, race officials and friends, Complete Freight's Director Angus Bruce Jones explained their decision for supporting Tobias in this years Transat 6.50 With Tobias's help we have identified an opportunity to help all the Transat 6.50 sailors with the shipping of their boats from Brazil back to Europe after this courageous race. We will offer the sailors a complete package, which will ensure a safe and swift return. The last thing these sailors will want to worry about after such a race is the safety of their boats. With translation into French from fellow Transat competitor, Isabelle Joschke, Mr. Bruce–Jones went on to explain the finer details of their proposed shipping arrangements to the sailors.
Complete Freight and European Ocean Freight arrange consolidated Air & Sea Shipments for the Rolex Transatlantic Race - May 2005

Complete Freight together with European Ocean Freight (www.shipeof.com) organised the shipment of excess equipment and kit bags from New York to Cowes for a number of the yachts involved in the Rolex Transatlantic race such as Mari Cha IV, Maximus, Windrose, Tempest, Stay Calm, Ocean Pheonix, Sumuran, Carrera & Leopard of London. A Combination of Air and Sea Shipments allowed crews to divide their equipment between what was needed quickly and what was not.

Relocation of the Greenwich Maritime Museum Stores - May 2005

Complete Freight confirms the contract to re-locate the Greenwich Maritime Museum stores from London to Falmouth. This project is split over 4 shipments the first of which was completed last week and involved the relocation of a total of 9 historical yachts & dinghies in keeping with the museums guidelines and regulations

SY Cheyenne Heads for the Start of the Oryx Quest 2005 - January 2005

SY Cheyenne (formally known as Playstation) owned by Steve Fossett was shipped out of Antwerp by Complete Freight this week heading for the start of Tracey Edwards' Oryx Quest 2005 in Qatar. ETA in the Middle East is 24th Jan, just two weeks from its departure from Northern Europe. Cheyenne is 38m (125ft) in length, 20m (65ft) in Beam and has a mast of 45m (147ft)

Morning Glory heads for LA - October 2004

SY Morning Glory shipped from Marseille to Long Beach. Transit time expected to be 24 days for direct shipment and operation went "smoothest and most proffesional yacht shipping experience ever" said Pete Peneleton, Skipper of SY Morning Glory.

Farr 40 Fleet Head for Sydney - October 2004

Adèle is a 180 ft. ketch designed by Hoek Naval Architect (Edam - Holland), which is the largest yacht under construction at Vitters to date whereas Antares is a 40m sailing yacht (Ketch) to the design of Dixon Yacht Design

Mari-Cha IV arrived in Genova Italy last week, and after a nerve wracking day of extreme weather in Genova harbour, we finally found a window of calm weather between two squalls to unload the boat from the Cielo del Canada.
